"Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, rejoice." — Philippians 4:4

June has been a beautiful whirlwind of ministry, growth, and unforgettable moments here in Albania. From coastal cities to mountain villages, each experience has deepened our connection to the people, the language, and the work God is doing here.

Durres Youth Rally: Gospel on the Court

In the picturesque coastal city of Durres, we joined a unique youth rally centered around basketball. Teams from all over Albania competed in a weekend tournament, but the real heart of the event lay in the devotionals. Before each game and at halftime, church leaders and young men shared lessons on sportsmanship, perseverance, and teamwork. Some kids came just for the sport, but left with a glimpse of the Gospel. Chloe and I also joined the Durres girls youth group for a powerful study on Esther’s courage and faith—despite the language barrier, their warmth and effort to connect was deeply moving.

Navigating Language Barriers

One of our biggest challenges continues to be the language. While younger Albanians often know a bit of English, many of the church members do not. Thankfully, we began Albanian language classes this month! I’m slowly learning greetings, pronouns, and the alphabet, and can now carry basic conversations. It's hard work, but worth every bit of effort.

Learning from Thereasa Winnett

We had the privilege of spending time with missionary Thereasa Winnett, who taught us how to engage with children from different cultures. Her insights on overcoming language gaps and creating meaningful experiences with kids were invaluable—and she brought so much joy and wisdom to our time together.

VBS in Polican: Fruits of the Spirit

Polican, a small town near Berat, may be quiet in size but loud in faith. Our AIM team and the Smith family helped with their summer VBS themed around the Fruits of the Spirit. Jayden and Daniel led lessons, while Chloe and I coordinated crafts, games, and snacks. Around 50 lively kids filled the room with energy and enthusiasm! One special moment was learning Albanian VBS songs and dances with Deliza, an older girl who helped translate and share their vibrant worship culture.

Tirane VBS: One Joyful Day

Though we only had one day to help with the Tirane Church of Christ's VBS, it was unforgettable. Daniel led songs, Jayden and I prepped snacks, and the kids competed in a fun Bible Bowl-style challenge. Their excitement to learn about Jesus was absolutely contagious.

Life in Berat: Rhythm and Purpose

Back in Berat, our weekly rhythm includes language classes (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), Mark Bible study nights (Tuesday and Thursday), and Friday evenings reserved for team bonding. Every week brings new challenges, but also new reasons to be thankful.

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." — Psalm 51:10 (ESV)

Thank you all for your prayers, love, and continued support. God is truly at work here in Albania, and I am so grateful to be part of it.
